Laura Luca
Violin Performance and Education

Violinist in Seattle and violin lessons

Laura began her violin lessons at the age of 7. Remarkably, by the time she was just 9 years old, she made her debut as a soloist under the guidance of renowned pedagogues from the great Romanian violin school. When she was just 10, shortly after a competition, her teachers asked what she dreamed of becoming. Without hesitation, she shared her clear vision: to open her own violin school one day, to help others discover the joy and fulfillment that playing the violin can bring.

She pursued her education at the “Dinu Lipatti” National College of Arts in Bucharest, Romania, and the “Music Conservatory” in Greece. She holds a "Professional Certificate in Violin Performance" from the National College of Arts in Bucharest, as well as a "Violin Performance Degree with Excellence" (BM) and a "Violin Soloist Diploma with Distinction and First Prize" (MM), both awarded by the Greek Ministry of Culture. She further enriched her musical journey by attending masterclasses with instructors from around the world, refining her skills and gaining diverse perspectives. But most significant is her deep enthusiasm for music, and especially for the violin. Laura has been teaching and performing for over 27 years across Europe and the United States.

She has performed as a soloist and as a member of orchestras, and has appeared in live broadcasts on both television and radio. Laura enjoys playing a wide range of musical genres, from classical to rock, pop, and jazz. She also has a particular passion for teaching the violin. In addition to running her own teaching Studio, she has taught as a Professor of Violin at the Greek National Conservatoire, the Polyphonic Conservatory, The Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, and several other music schools and academies across Europe and the United States. Fluent in English, Romanian, and Greek, Laura welcomes bilingual students and tailors her lessons to their individual needs. She is also a member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).

Now based in Seattle, Laura has found her creative home, a place where her rich and varied musical journey inspires her to offer personalized, enriching instruction to students of all ages and backgrounds. She teaches from her boutique Violin Studio in Seattle, creating a nurturing, one-on-one environment, while also connecting with students worldwide through Online Lessons. Whether guiding beginners or refining advanced skills, Laura tailors her approach to suit each individual. With a unique blend of artistry, adaptability, and dedication, she empowers students to find their own musical voice while celebrating the importance of connection, both locally and globally.
