Laura began her violin journey at age seven. At just nine years old, she made her debut as a soloist under the guidance of renowned pedagogues from the great Romanian violin school. When she was ten, shortly after a competition, her teachers asked what she dreamed of becoming. Without hesitation, she shared her clear vision: to open her own violin school one day and help others discover the joy and fulfillment that playing the violin can bring.
She pursued her education at the Dinu Lipatti National College of Arts in Bucharest, Romania, and at the Music Conservatory in Greece. She holds a Professional Certificate in Violin Performance from the National College of Arts in Bucharest, a Violin Performance Degree with Excellence, and a Violin Soloist Diploma with Distinction and First Prize, both awarded by the Greek Ministry of Culture. She further enriched her musical journey by attending masterclasses with distinguished teachers from around the world, refining her skills and gaining diverse perspectives.
Laura has performed both as a soloist and as an orchestral musician and has appeared in live broadcasts on both television and radio. In addition to running her own studio, she has taught at the Greek National Conservatoire, the Polyphonic Conservatory, the Chestnut Hill Music Academy in Philadelphia, and other music schools and academies across Europe and the United States. She is fluent in English, Romanian, and Greek, and is a member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).
Now based in Seattle, she offers personalized violin instruction to students locally and around the world, still doing exactly what she said she would at ten.
I
Starting Young
Whether your child is just beginning or already playing, I tailor each lesson to their goals, personality, and musical interests. I don't follow a single fixed method. Every child is different, and I teach them that way. What I care about is that each child feels free to ask, to explore, and to enjoy every step. Technical skills and real musical understanding are built step by step, with confidence and focus developing at each child's own pace.
II
Never Too Late
I work with adult students of all levels, from complete beginners to those returning to the violin after years away. I build each lesson around the individual student, their level, and their interests. My focus is on developing solid violin technique together with real musicianship, so students build the tools they need to keep progressing on their own. Learning the violin as an adult is not only possible, it can become a genuine source of joy while sharpening concentration, patience, and coordination.
III
Wherever You Are
I teach students in person and online, across multiple countries. Whether you are in Seattle or on the other side of the world, the same personalized instruction comes to you.
My Studio
I offer one-on-one violin lessons, for all ages, abilities, and musical styles, online or in my Seattle studio. I believe it is never too early and never too late to start.
Living and teaching across different countries and cultures, I have seen it again and again: when lessons are built around the person, not just the instrument, students who learn freely, enjoy the process, and feel genuinely heard don't simply improve. They grow.

TESTIMONIALS
I had the pleasure to work in London with Laura Luca, on different occasions, both as a performer and a teacher. Her impressive technique and deep musicality have inspired me strongly in some of my own projects. Consequently, I invited her to teach a few of my students on an impromptu course. They have benefited greatly from her shared insights as an experienced pedagogue. I am more than happy to warmly recommend her to play or teach in your school, institution or your family. Anyone lucky enough to hire her, will more than enjoy and learn from her being there.

Laura is absolutely amazing at recognizing how I learn, and using her skill and techniques to teach me in a way that works for me. I have progressed much faster than I anticipated and it’s definitely because of her dedication and commitment to me. The way she adjusts her lessons for younger students and explains complex techniques in a way that they can understand what she’s teaching is incredible. One of my absolute favorite things about Laura is her kindness, patience and compassion when teaching. She always finds a way to instill confidence in me.

When I first started playing the violin, I had never played an instrument before, nor did I know how to read music. Laura's teaching approach is not only rooted in deep technical knowledge but is also tailored to the individual needs of each student. Her clear explanations, paired with her own exceptional skill as a violinist make the learning process enjoyable. I can't wait for my online lessons!

Laura is a wonderful violin teacher. She has vast teaching and playing experiences which translates well into the classroom. She assessed my skill level, met me where I was, and helped me get back on track with my technique. She is consistent, honest, and a wonderful violinist. Those are all qualities that I value in a violin teacher.
